Paint Correction in Port St. Lucie

Machine polishing that takes swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation out of the paint before anything is sealed over it.

Premium Detailing corrects paint for owners across Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast. Correction is machine polishing: swirl marks, wash marring, light scratches and oxidation are cut and refined out of the clear coat until the finish has its depth back. It is done at the shop in Port St. Lucie, because what gets corrected is decided by what the lighting shows.

It starts with a paint evaluation

We look at the paint first and identify what is actually there: scratches, oxidation, and the surface defects that are flattening the gloss. That evaluation is what the quote is built from, which is why correction is not priced before the vehicle is seen.

Correction and polishing

The defects are levelled and the paint refined back to a clean finish. How far that goes depends on the paint: a one step polish lifts the lighter defects in a single pass, while deeper swirls and oxidation need multi step work that cuts further and then finishes finer.

Then protect it, or it goes straight back

Correction removes a thin amount of clear coat to level what is in it, and a car does not have an unlimited supply of clear coat. Locking the result in with a ceramic coating is what stops the next few months of washing putting the swirls right back where they were. It is recommended rather than required, and we will say so either way at the evaluation.

A final detail and inspection

A complete finishing pass and an inspection under the lights before the vehicle goes back to you.

Paint Correction Questions

What is the difference between a one step and a multi step correction?

A one step polish lifts the lighter defects and brings the gloss back in a single pass. Multi step work cuts further and finishes finer, for paint with deeper swirls or oxidation. The evaluation decides which the car needs.

Do I need a coating afterwards?

It is recommended rather than required. Correction removes a thin amount of clear coat to level the defects, and a coating keeps that finish from going straight back to where it was.

Will it remove deep scratches?

Polishing removes light defects: swirl marks, wash marring, haze and oxidation. A scratch that has gone through the clear coat is paint work, not correction, and we will tell you that at the evaluation.

How long does the result hold up?

That depends almost entirely on how the car is washed afterwards. Automatic washes with spinning brushes put the swirls straight back in. A ceramic coating over the corrected paint is what makes it last.

Where is paint correction done?

At the shop in Port St. Lucie. Correction is measured against what the lighting shows, which is why it happens under proper lights rather than in a driveway.
